Does face (cheeck) kiss (quick peck) and hug deliver different message?
Some of my close friends when we greet/say goodbye we usually handshake or hug, rarely will someone kiss me on the cheek (quick peck) do they deliver different message?
For generations it has been a European custom for one person to briefly hug and give a "air kiss" to the cheek or cheeks of the other person as a greeting. That custom seems to have fairly recently come across the Atlantic and more and more people in our country are doing the same. It simply indicates friendly intent. I am old enough to remember when women did not shake hands! Can you believe that one? Only men shook hands and women smiled and noded their heads. Crazy.

Not really. Some people are just naturally more affectionate than others.
