I m going to start playing D&D soon, and I want my character to be a sword-and-shield fighter but also be proficient in forest/nature magic. I do t have a rule book or money for one . What would be the best class for this?

None I'm afraid.
D&D classes have to specialise in very specific ways. To use a sword and shield, you're going to need to be a Fighter, but to use any kind of nature magic, that means either Druid or Ranger. You can maybe get away with being a sword wielding Ranger, who at higher levels gets access to a small collection of spells, but they don;t get to use shields.
In 5th edition you can do this with a Ranger very easily.
Rangers are proficient with shields and all martial weapons. They don't start with spells, but get them at second level. It should be noted that Rangers are a very specialized class. If your favorite terrain is common in your campaign, and you fight a lot of your favored enemy, you are going to do really well. If the opposite is true you aren't going to do all that well.
This is also possible to do as a 5th edition fighter, just maybe not quite as well. At third level your fighter can become an Eldritch Knight, which grants them access to a small selection of arcane spells from the wizard's spell list. With the right pick of flavor-full spells, you can at least come a little close.
Selecting Outlander or Hermit as your background would help as well.
Oath of the Ancients paladin.
Ranger fits that description exactly
High Wisdom stat
