The Swiss are not known for any food taboos,however they have been very aware of biotechnology and genetic alteration of food and several years ago had a public political debate concerning those issues. The Swiss are well known for their excellent cheeses and chocolate. Henri Nestle developed the first infant formula in the 1880's in Switzerland. His life saving product is often forgotten by people categorizing great food innovations.
The Swiss cuisine is very international as well as our regions. French,Italian,German and Rumantsch. Therefore you have a great choice of dishes/specialities. Can't name all the foods,preparations etc. - it would fill up pages! Taboo food: frog-legs and foie-gras! I think the foie-gras is allowed again.
