Ford Excursion which engine V10 or V8 has better reliablity and MPG?
I own a V8 5.4 expedition but I am looking to add an excursion to my fleet. I know nothing about Ford's V10. It seems to me that having a V10 would be better since the vehicle is larger?
Any thoughts?????
I can't get the diesel so its between the V10 and V8

Literally flip a coin. The v10 Triton is the v8 plus two cylinders and the rest of the drive train is identical. Pulling mpgs will suck, but the v10 will pull more easier.
I personally own a 2000 7.3 holiday that i love. Mpg has been 15c/17h however with the winter cold temps in OH, my regional travel mpg has got here down to14. I best drive 15 mls every approach to work. From journeying with it, you get higher mpg the longer and think it or now not, turbo. My truck likes to run and gets the first-rate mpg at 70-75 mph. I currently am checklist mine for sale due to it having 203K on it but having concern finding an 03 with 7.3L. If I get a 6.0, it is going to be an 05. I have heard too many dangerous things about the 03 + 04 ford diesels. Hope that helps!
