i just got my 20 week ultrasound like 4 days ago and my doctor called me giving me a number to call to make an appointment to have another ultrasound done but full scale she said. she didnt tell me anything was wrong or anything. but im kinda worried.
what does a full scale ultrasound consist of? and what do they look for and how is it done. the office i called to make the appointment said it was a 45 minute process so dress for comfort. i just wanna know if these are common for first time mums and what they are for.

Yes, they are common. Some places call them "level II" ultrasounds.
They measure many, many things -- heart action, kidney function, stomach and intestine action, bone length, etc. It's very detailed and does take about 45 minutes.
The reason your doctor may not do them is that it requires a strong, reasonably new ultrasound machine and not every office has one powerful or detailed enough to see the things they need to see.
