hard disk error in inspiron 1525?
I have inspiron 1525 and my hard disk was making some strange sound. I came to know that hard disk had bad sectors. But when i rebooted my computer it showed hard disk is not available. I checked in bios and it shows no primary hard drive. What may be the problem?
I have another problem. After hdd failure I thought of running ubuntu live cd without using hdd. But ubuntu live cd is not starting the os. I am sure my cd has no defects. Why? Can I make my USB hard drive as primary hard disk device? How?

you can't make the usb drive your primary drive, if there were bad sectors, then it's possible that there where the first few sectors, which is would cause the laptop not being able to see the drive. your going to need to get a new HDD and install it, then you will need to reinstall windows on it.
