these days a lot of houses are split into flats or bedsits
you do find some cottages in certain areas that look just like in the movies but these tend to be very expensive and sought after so living in one is a difficult ambition to achieve
modern houses tend to be very basic, ugly, little architectural features etc but there is a huge variety of styles
They don't look like the homes in the US normally. Generally alot are older so some you see in things such as harry potter would be true especially in London. Though new houses are nothing like that and are more brick boxes, the house where Harry Potter grew up in the film would be more realistic. Most houses are covered in bricks unlike america (what I have seen anyway).
