I have a 84 Trans am. I Swapped out the 305 With a 350 Vortec motor. I converted The motor to carb which i am using a holley 750 vacuum secondary with a 31 sprayer sitting on top of a elder block performer intake. I am also Using a K&N Air Cleaner. Im using a Acel distributor with a vacuum advance and Moroso Plug wires. 6AlL MSD box and Hooker shorty Headers (no Converters) Flowmaster muffler. Nothing internal has been put in this motor.(stock cam etc) I am not running Smog or AC on this Motor either. I Rebuilt my 700r4 transmission with all performance clutches, aluminum pistons, corvette servo and Governor, and a b&m shift kit. and a medium stall converter.
I raced a 96 mustang gt and i smoked him.
I also beat a 2005 dodge ram Hemi at the 1/4 but not as much as the mustang.
i know that the motor had 255 hp stock and 330 ft lb of torque and it feels a hell of a lot stronger than the motor in my 97z71 so how much horsepower do you think this motor puts out? how about WHP?

It probably has 255 HP. And it "feels a hell of a lot stronger than the motor in my 97z71" because the truck weighs twice as much as the Camaro. Les weight, better acceleration.
The trans am is lighter and the rearend gears are a lot different then ur truck and the TA had a 305 so bet you have a higher gear ratio.Gears make a big difference in how a motor responds you are getting into the cam faster then ur truck and bet you are carrying more rpms.
Could you tell me what gear ratio and converter are you running? I might want to do something similar. A torquey 255 hp in about a 3500 pound car is nothing to laugh at! 95-97 Camaros have 275 hp similar weight and about the same torque and they run anywhere from 13.8 to 14.4. in the quarter!
