Im 33 weeks now and I think by 26 weeks I had gained 15 lbs or so which I was concerned about but the Dr had no problem with it as she was growing just fine I have gained about 7lbs since then to where I am now, my other pregnancys on the other hand I wasent so lucky I gained about 60-70 lbs troughout my whole pregnancys I had high bp and retained so much fluid! If you are concerned about your weight gain I would discuss it with your OB.
Well with me, I usally gain 40 to 60 lbs with my pregnancies. So I guess by 26 weeks anywhere from 25 to 45 lbs. With this one though(#6) I have only gained 20 so far and I am 30 weeks.
at my 27 week check-up this week, i had gained 9 1/2 pounds. i'm supposed to gain 20-30 lbs. overall, so my weight gain should be picking up soon. my doctor isn't concerned and hasn't mentioned it, though, so i'm not too worried, and the baby is growing fine (according to the ultrasound).
it is important to remember that everyone is different and every pregnancy is different, you can't neccesarily compare yourself to what other people are going through. the weight guidelines in books are generalizatons, and if you want to know where you stand you should discuss it with your doctor because they will know if what you have gained is healthy for you. to give you an idea, i am 39 weeks and have gained only 13 lbs...this wouldn't be healthy for a lot of women but is perfect for me and my body type, my doctor couldn't be happier! so don't get worried if you don't compare to others, what's right for you may not be right for others. best of luck!
