I have just been looking through some of the recent posts and i have found a lot of comments that seem quite hypocritical to me for instance. A lot of atheists keep asking us to stop preaching to them and trying to convert them ?? But then a lot of atheists go on to say statements such as "There is no significance to anything in the Bible... its a load of rot, and should be thrown away immediately!"
Isn't that just the same he/she is trying to tell us what to do ??
I am a believer in god , and i do not intend this to turn in to a argument it was just a observation i made i am willing to except your opinions on what i said. And i have more instances than that but i did not copy any of them to show.
Update:Well i wouldnt make a genralizations like that because i dont belive all christians spend there time trying to convert athiests. But if some do that is there choice i am quite liberal and i think its fair enough you have a difference in opinion , even though i do not agree with it.

Certainly is not the same... That statement is simply an opinion.
Well, first I think there is a difference between preaching by legislating your views, and knocking door to door forcing people to listen to you... and making comments on an online message board where you are completely free to choose not to read/hear them if you dont want.
Second, understand that yahoo answers is a rant and rave board, and that the Christians on here do that just as much as the athiests do.
Third, yes, I think its a bit hypocritical. But I also think its hypocritical when I see "christians" over here going on and complaining about that, and then they go and do the exact same thing in the lgbt section. Your complaint is a two way street, and dont forget it.
There's a slight difference between someone expressing their opinion that the book should be thrown away and someone telling you that you'll burn in hell forever if you don't believe what they believe, in my viewpoint.
But I find that both sides of the coin have good and bad points.
I like to think of myself as a fence sitter, a impartial observer of what goes on. Sometimes Ill answer Christan questions as I do know the bible inside out. And sometimes Ill answer non Christan questions as I see fit and depending on if they touch on my life's experiences.

I agree with you if atheists don't want us to preach to them then why bring up the subject. it's because they want to know about God they just don't want others to know that they want to know about God. Deep within everyone is the desire to know God.
No, we are not hypocritical.
We are just pointing out flaws in your faiths were not exactly telling you to join us.
not really.
i don't think you're trying to convert me, i think you are indoctrinated and have little choice in what your religion tells you to do.
Just one thing...
we dont threaten you with eternal torment.
Education is not hypocritical.
