I scratch near my bangs and white stuff gets wedged under my finger nails. I have used head and shoulders, tea tree shampoo, selson blue and some other dandruff control. What is it and how do I get rid of it?
Update:A ton of flakes also fall when I itch.

Its a yakta fungus, its ok though as orange juice will kill it fairly easily. Just wash your face with orange juice instead of water for a few days, yhe citric acid will sort it for you
I get the same exact thing. Do you straighten your bangs? Because I think the heat of the flat iron has some type of effect to our scalp and is maybe what's causing it. I've been straightening my bangs since the 5th grade and I'm now in high school. It could probably be dandruff or dead skin. I honestly don't know how to get rid of it. There is this one shampoo & conditioner called Clear something. I forgot what it's called, but it helps. Not for long, though. & it's obviously not lice, but if it gets itchy or you feel the need to scratch it out, do not pick at it our touch it. The more you scratch on it, the more they come. And I learned that the hard way. I'm very hygienic with my hair and stuff and I hate having these things in my hair! Hope this helped!
Could be psoriasis. I get it in my scalp and its just what you describe. Neutragena T-Gel is a shampoo you can buy that is the best treatment. Every day or every other day wash your hair but leave it on for 10 mins before rinsing it out. It smells kinda bad but is the best treatment you can get without a prescription.
You could also get topical steroid cream from your doctor to get rid of it.
could be dandruff or residue from the grease or shampoo.
