i was stupid enough to splash water on my engine....(2001 chevy cavalier 2.2L I4) now it wont start... i have cleaned the water out of the coils and spark plugs and the air filter... i dont know what to do help... it cranks and turns but no start...

as long as all the parts and caps were on it should be fine ..
just drain the oil and pour new oil in
If you have the time let it sit for several hours , sometimes it takes a little
time for these things to dry out . But, that being said a little water on an
engine , especially one like yours should not make it fail to start.
Make sure you didnt knock any wire connectors off or loose.
Sometimes when igntion wires get wet they will cause the engine to
start hard , start and then misfire, or just not start. Dont run out and buy wires yet , give them a chance to dry , then if you can start it , and the wires are old you probably replace them anyway.

Remove the distributor cap and dry it out completely along with the rotor that is under it. Even better, replace them both. If water got into it it is most likely damaged and should be replaced before you end up on the side of the road in a rain storm. Good luck & happy motoring.
