i live air traffic, and the pigeon Detectives, the libertines and so on and id like to know moore bands, that arent mainstream (i hate bands that are sell-outs) I mostly like english indie rock :)
fanfarlo, RADIOHEAD (eek if you haven't heard them before -which would be ridiculous -you need to) wild beast....eh i don't know why you are limiting yourself to british indie, but some AMERICAN indie bands include: The Decemberists, the Flaming Lips, Arcade Fire(technically canadian), Grizzly Bear, Vampire Weekend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Shins, MGMT, and othersss just email me for a more comprehensive list
You should get last.fm. You can create a profile that gives you your music chemistry based on what you've been listening to. You can even hook it up to your itunes. It gives you music recommendations and shows similar artists to any band/artist...check it out : )
Just look up an artist and it'll give you music videos, similar genres, similar bands, etc. It's awesome. There's an app to it so if you listen to a song it'll update your profile and the more you listen to, the more band's you'll be able to find out about!
