im looking into an amp and came across this at the music store the other day and i like it. i am gonna go in there and play through it to make sure i like the sound before buying, but i id like to know some other stuff. i havent bought an amp in a long time so im not sure if this is the right amp for me. basically what i want in an amp is something i can use to play live in a smaller type venue, and something that is easy to record with. any other info on this amp would be appreciated, thanks.

I would advise you not to if you're a gigging and/or recording guitar player. The effects in the amp is quite good but the amp don't sound well when you want to play alongside others or record it. It simply sounds too digital - not a good thing. It's perfect for practice - if you play a lot of different styles - or plays in a cover band which covers a wide variety of sounds.
Live, and in studio in particular, it is way better to have a very good, basic amp sound first and foremost, and then add chosen effects to that. I often use Line 6 effects live, but I play through mostly Vox or Fender tube amplifiers.
This gives you a kind of basic sound that is not harsh and that blends well with other instruments - it sounds good loud as well as soft ... with or without effects.
Also, if you insist on digital modelling amps, you should probably test the similar stuff from Fender, Peavey (Vyper) or Vox. The amps here are better then the Line 6 ones in my experience.
