McDonalds uses it as a driver to bring customers in the store. They know once they get you in that you will probably turn that into a meal. The make there $$$ that way.
Because they want you to get your money's worth 1.00 for a double cheese burger it's a good deal, but if your not as hungry just get a regular cheese burger for under 1.00.
But the other side of it is,they make it cheaper so even the poorest people can get fat!
IDK. They used to do kinda the same thing to their fries. I remember that the small fry on their menu would be $0.99, whereas on the Dollar Menu, a medium fry would be $1.00. i agree with you on the oddities of the menu! =)

yes, very odd now.
Makes double cheeseburgers a better value
i think it is weird to i work at mcdonalds its odd i think. i think ours r 89 for a cheeseburger and 1.00 for a double
i know it doesn't make sense. putting something for 99 cents doesn't make it look any cheaper than a dollar
A good ol' Krusty Burger!
I dont't eat there. I might make an emergency stop for fries. I want touch the burgers.
I always get the single...because I don't like that much meat on 1 burger.
I have noticed that also.....just one of the quirky ''loopholes" that can be found in fast food menus on occasion.
