i have a microdermal piercing on my wrist
i have had it since feb of this year. it has not given me any problems
every once in a while, i will accidentally snag it on something.. i clean it, and by the next day the redness goes away
well, it has been infected for about a week now and its to the point that its very tender to the touch (for the first time since i have gotten it done)
im thinking about getting it removed (but i really dont want to)
im sure if it was going to reject it would have done so a long time ago
anyone know what may be going on?

my face piercing got all red and tender the first time i had it pierced and even looked infected. you must have just rubbed it the wrong way while your were asleep. It is probably nothing when infected you would know it is horribley painful and will prob. turn purple and ooze gross ****. I recommend just soaking it in a nice warm glass of salt water and maybe covering it with a bandaid for a day or two.
Are you sure it's infected? You might wanna check with a piercer if you think it's infected. Sometimes during my sleep, I'll lay on my hip dermal wrong and it'll get irritated. It was red and swollen for about 3 days just about a week ago, but it went away after that. I've had mine since October.
It doesn't sound like it's rejecting. Both of my clavicle dermals rejected- I didn't get them done by my piercer and he told me it had something to do with the jewelry not my body, but I won't get into that.
I don't know if you've had dermals removed before, but if you decide to do that I just wanna tell you that it doesn't hurt at all. In my opinion getting them put in hurts way more.
Any piercing can reject at any time. Since it's in such a high movement area, it probably is rejecting or if not, just extremely irritated from getting snagged.
I'd have a piercer take a look at it & tell you what's going on.
