i just recently found out i had a miscarriage and i went to the doctor today and she told me we could either let it all pass and it could take up to 2-3 weeks and me still be in all the pain i am in right now and continue bleeding or i have have a D&C and clear everything out and things should be better in a bout a week. i woud totally just say the D&C automaticallyexcept the fact i have missed work last thursday, sat, and monday and then i would miss thursday and friday too i feel so bad considering my boss is my best friends mother, i just dont know what to do!!
Update:well i was about 7 weeks so it wasnt that far along but im having extreme pain and she did a sono today and saw that there was still a large clump of tissue still in my uterus, thats when she gave me the option of D&C or just to let it pass. and i am very close with my boss she has been told everything that has happened so far and i notify her on everything.

listen I had lost children to do to misscarry. You should have a D@C done. why wait to see if it all comes out. And, another don't feel bad to miss more day's of work. They understand what your going through. Worry about getting better before returning to work. Take as long as you need.
At times like this the most important thing is your health and well being...How far along were you when you lost your baby? I know in early miscarriages it's easiest to let it pass on its own without a D&C, if you were further along in the pregnancy a D&C is most likely necessary to make sure all the tissue is removed so there is no risk of infection.
Although it may not be of any of your boss' business, you may want to tell her what your going through so there is an explanation as to why you have missed so much work recently (as you stated she is your best friends mom) Chances are she will be totally understanding and let you have as much time as you need to get things in order and get yourself healthy.

Forget your boss! You have to take time for yourself and your health. If you wait too long and just let it pass naturally and it doesn't, you're still going to have to miss work to get the D&C and by then you may have an infection, so do what's best for you and take care of that now. By the way I'm sorry for your lost. I remember what that felt like. I tried letting it pass naturally and I missed two weeks of school because I couldn't move off my back, I had so much pain in my lower half. I eventually had to go in because I had an infection that could have killed me, so again do what is best for you in the long run honey!
Its just a week that your missing, would you rather have to go through such a long time like that? To tell you the truth, if I were you, I would spare the pain and just take those last two days out.
Because imagine how much work you would be missing between those 2-3 weeks?
I had a D&C. I think it is better (in my opinion) It is a hard situation to deal with and I think the fast way is best for emotions. I am so sorry for your loss, I a have lost 2. I hope the best for you.
As long as you have a doctor's excuse for missing work...don't sweat it. It's just business and your health is more important.
have the dnc, it is the safest way. sorry about your loss, i didn't miss any time off work for one though. if you have it done late afternoon you should be fine for work the next day.
I would go for the D & C and get it over with, it's really hard to deal with.
