Ok i have a 2003 50cc Legend Getaway. When i bought it a few days ago the bike started for about 3 secs then stalled out. So i took it home and have done several things to it. I replaced the spark plug, the sparkplug coil, put a brand new battery, Pulled the carb out and cleaned it really good, Adjusted the valves. Now the scooter won't even try to fire now. All it does was whine but won't fire or turn over as you guys say. I'm really frustrated with this and can't figure this out. I adjusted the valves last nite now i can't get it to fire. Things i have left to do after i get it to fire is: check the fuel petcock, check muffler for plug. Please give me some advice as i really want to ride
Update:ok now i readjusted the valves and that part is fine, also i cleaned out the gas tank and petcock now it will fire, but it won't idle. i jumped on and rode it for about 3 minutes then it shutoff what could be wrong now?

well if it was trying to fire, then you adjusted the valves and now it wont fire, you have obviously adjusted them wrong.
and maybe its the starter motor if its just whines, have you tryed kick starting?
Pull the plug out, put the cap back on it, ground the plug on a cylinder head bolt, and turn the engine over. If the spark plug sparks, then its has an air/fuel problem. If not, then youre not even getting fire to fire the fuel. Since you replaced the coil, if it isnt sparking, its probably the pulser or exciter coil located behind the flywheel.
