My girl friend has a speech impediment, I was wondering first off all is it curable if(it embarrasses her) and secondly is it like a thing that can be passed down. It's not stuttering or anything, she just can't say certain words or sounds, especially when she gets mad or nervous. I personally have no problem with it and think its kinda cute but she doesn't like it and at times it makes her not want to talk in front of people she doesn't know. Also, on the off chance that we had a kid together is it something that would be passed on to our children?

Speech therapists work with people to improve/overcome their speech problems. If she hasn't already done so, she should see if your school system has someone who could work with her. Many insurance policies cover speech therapy as well. It's cool that you've got a good attitude about it, but if it bothers her, she should seek out help.
Unless there's some structural reason for the speech impediment, it's unlikely to be hereditary. I don't think you would pass it along to your kids.
