I just had a Dual XDMA7715 deck stereo installed in my 2003 Honda Civic today. It's a little old, but it works and went in decently. However, the guy who installed said that me and him both were missing a fitting case or something (which I don't even notice) and what he called a "beauty strip" that goes around the stereo. This is very noticeable and kind of ugly. Where could I procure such an item for my car, and if I can get it, can I install it by myself?

LOL..."beauty strip"...well that's a new one.
Well, I don't know what to tell you...I would assume that "fitting case" is his made-up way of saying "cage"...if he didn't use a cage then that means he ISO mounted it (not usually done in Hondas). Without the headunit being cage-mounted you will probably not be able to get the trim ring (beauty strip) to stay on. If you still want to get a trim ring for it, you may be able to find one at a car audio shop...a lot of times they have them just lying around. Otherwise you could probably order one online or through the manufacturer. If the headunit is cage-mounted (I don't think it is) then installing the trim ring is easy...you just pop it on. If it's ISO mounted, then it can be a pain in the as$ (you may have to grind it down, you may have to glue it on...PITA).
