I have a windows vista computer. Everything was working fine until today. Suddenly, the right click and start menu were not working. When I right click, the options only show up for a split second. When I click the start menu, it only shows up for a split second. However, if I hold shift, they work. How do I make it so I do not have to hold shift to make the right click and start menu work properly?

I would try safe mode (F8 right before the Windows Welcome Screen) and see if the problem still occurs ... if it doesn't, my first bet would be going into The start menu and going to Run and typing MSConfig ... then go to the startup tab and see how many things you can disable (Some (ex firewalls and anti-virus and even driver related software) may be needed ... others can be removed ...) .... I sense a conflict with something that is starting when "Windows Starts"
OR I suppose it could be a "buggy" mouse ... do you have another mouse you could try?
