SEVERE bladder infection that won't go away? help!?
Im at my ends with this bladder infection! Its so severe and painful its INSANE. I went to the ER and they gave me Bactrim which didn't work and now I'm taking Saproxin which still isnt working..I've had fevers and naushea. Its been two weeks of all this and I've missed a week of school. I keep peeing my pants and the pain gets so severe I can't even walk. The fact that this is holding me back from my daily life upsets me..the doctor is waiting for my urine results to come back and the ER took my urine and said it deffinetly was a bladder infection. This is kinda gross but my vaginal area hurts SO bad and I can't take the pain. Not even pain killers such as advil or motrin really work...what should I do?

Hi, Sydney. The pain related to urinary bladder infection is due to the acidic condition created & if you can control that you will be fine. You will need to purchase potassium citrate solution from a chemist to assist you control the situation. It neutralises the acidity created by the infection. Drinking lots of water will also help. You may wash down south using saline solution : 1 teaspoon full of table salt in 300mils warm water will do the trick. Use it as frequent as you need it until comfortable. In addition drinking lots of citrus juice will help with healing of the lining of the bladder. All the best.
Drink cranberry juice, blueberry juice or both. Also pineapple or pinapple juice.
Drink a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water twice a day (tastes nasty but helps balance the ph levels of your body and is said to help a UTI). Or try two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and a little honey in a glass of water.
Drink lots of water. I know it hurts to pee but the more of the infection you get out of you the better.
