Sound card/driver????
Please help!! I got this message from my virus detector, that a virus had been found. The name of the virus was: W32.stration@mm.
Then I got another message while starting a game that I had no Sound card. Then a "ADD NEW HARDWARE WIZARD" or something like that. There it said that the Audio Media Controller had to be installed and it asked me to insert the disk or floppy in which my Driver was installed from.
But I don't have it nowwww!!!!!! What shall I do??? Did the virus do this? I coulldn't cure the virus, but quarantined it. Please hellp!!!!!

you'll need to find what type of sound card you have.
Start menu/all programs/ accessories/ system tools/ system information/ components/ sound device
then try downloading the driver from the sound card manufacturer or the computer manufacturer or (heaven forbid) drivers .com
then install
i'm guessing you have avg? If not the name of your protection software would be helpful. Do you use a laptop or desktop? Do you use onboard sound (plug in speakers to motherboard not a seperate usb or pci device) Is this missing "audio media controller" affecting your speakers or audio experience at all?
If it is messing with your speakers, i need you to right click on my computer, go to properties, go to the hardware tab, click device manager, click on the plus buton next to "sound, video, and game controllers. What do you see?

If you run XP, you can do remote assistance if you have or use msn instant messenger. Someone you know can look in your computer and see where the driver is for your soundcard or see what brand it is to get one for it.
