check your motherboard model and find the sound driver according to it.
All the drivers you will need for your computer can be found at the manufacturers web site.
Look up your Model and then down and install your drivers. Chances are that you do not have all the drivers install es. Go to your Control Panel, then go to System, and then go to hardware. You will be able to which drivers are missing. Its a good idea to download and save them. Once you have downloaded then burn to a CD. This way you will have them incase you ever need to do this again.
You will also need to download and install the following:
1. Adode Flash Player
2. Adode Reader
3. Java
4. Direct X.
After you have installed these. Run the Windows Update to get the rest of the updates for Windows XP.
Once your updates are done, install a good free anti virus like Avast, a good free Firewall, PC Tools. Install MacFee Site Advisor (Warns of Bad Webs sites in advance), Advanced Windows Care. Keeps your program running clean. When your are done with this you can install whatever other programs you like, like office. Roxio etc.
