well if you took the proper procedures to taking care of an injured hand.. ice, rest, wrap, and anti-inflammatories, the swelling should be going down within a few days. Bruising can last for a few weeks. But it is still bothering you after a few days i would seek a doctors care for treatment. good luck

If you can't make a fist you may have a broken metacarpal.

If you punched a person with an open type hand that is not a proper clenched fist it's possible to break your 5th metacarpal.
