A Grand Marnier chocolate ganache cake that was made in a little French bakery (30 years ago and no longer in business). She always made a Parisian scene (silhouette of the Eiffel Tower) on the top. It was a one layer, very dense chocolate cake, with Grand Marnier liqueur in it. Quite expensive at the time, and I've never had anything like it before or since.

I've never enjoyed a complex desert. Unfortunately for you the best I've ever eaten was in fact a cheesecake, a Baileys chocolate cheesecake.
The best dessert I have eaten that I would have no idea how to go about making is a baked alaskan.
