I need to verify the identity and find the domain of validity and I have no idea how to do that.
cosθ / secθ
= cosθ / (1/cosθ)
= cosθ * (cosθ/1)
= cos²θ
secθ is not defined for θ = π/2 + πk
Domain of validity: θ ≠ π/2 + πk for any integer k
secθ = 1/cosθ
1/secθ = cosθ
as long as secθ ≠ 0
cosθ = 0 at π/2 ± kπ
cosθ/secθ
= cosθ * 1/secθ
= cosθ * cosθ
try converting to sines and cosines first.
