Cant afford $50.00 fine when you got caught drinking ? Yet you could afford alcohol to drink HUH?
There is no way possible that your parents will not find out about an alcohol citation. They will either get a letter, a phone call, or some kind of communication from the authorities. If you want to make them very upset then don't tell them they find out and then you really will be in trouble
By the way you can't pay it or go to court by yourself.
Go to the courthouse one morning and see the Public Defender. He will defend you for free.
If this is your first charge , he will be able to get you a diversion - no fine, no record.
DO NOT go into court without him.
...............
First offenders have the opportunity to have no misdemeanor record if they satisfy all terms of "diversion", which is an alternative sentence. Probation (It can include fines, alcohol education, random testing, community service etc) is given. All court proceedings are deferred or "diverted" until completion of probation. Once probation is completed and all of the terms of probation are successfully met, the case will be discharged and dismissed. You will have no arrest record to report on school loans or housing applications, and most importantly employment forms.
PS If you have a less then full adult license , the Judge may suspend your license until ?????????
You didn't say how old you are. I hope you're close to the legal age. But you need to face the music and tell your parents so they can send in the 50 dollars. The other choice is a chain gang.
you will in all danger finally end up with a great. Pay it and circulate on with existence, when you consider which you relatively have not got any grounds to argue against it. you may likely call the type on the cost ticket, admit guilt and pay the superb in improve, making a courtroom visual attraction pointless. you may desire to get some community service or something like that fairly. It will never be reformatory time or something like that.
Tell your parents. It's the best thing to do. If you didn't want them to find out, why'd you do it. You have to learn from your mistakes,
