Hi, i wanna know what is so good in a graphic card to be good if you know what i mean.
Like lets say a 9500GT (old) vs a GTX 550 ti.
If they both have the same clock , memory, shader settings would they be pretty much same performance? LOL the 9500gt cant even reach the 550 ti settings but if it can , would they be equal in performance ?
What makes a graphic card good ?

No, you have to consider other factors as well:
Whether it is GDDR3 or GDDR5, GDDR5 is faster.
Architecture: This is important. Better architecture makes the card render and model faster.
However, if the graphics card is of the same generation (kindof) clock rate matters:
GTX480 vs GTX570

The results are almost the same. The 480 has more memory and a faster memory bus.
The 570 has a higher clockrate and a better fill rate. Both have 480 CUDA cores.
So, in theory, if the 9500GT has EXACTLY the same specs as the GTX550ti, it'll have the same performance.
if all the speeds for all the graphics cards are the same then the big difference would be how the card is built
