Calculate the mass of iron(III) oxide (rust) produced by the reaction of 500g of iron with oxygen from the air.
What mass of precipitate should form if 2.00g of silver nitrate in solution is reacted with excess sodium sulfide solution.
Determine the Mass of water vapor formed when 1.00g of butane, C4H10(g), is burned in a lighter.
Silver metal can be recovered from waste silver nitrate solutions by reaction with copper metal. What mass of silver can be obtained using 50g of copper.
Thanks in advance for your help!

2Fe+3O2->2FeO3
First write down the reaction in question, then work out the moles of any given values. First question you are given teh mass of Iron so work out the amount of Iron atoms:
mass/atomic mass=mol
500/54.938=0.101 mol (3 significant figures)
Once you have the amount of the species in question it is simply a question of looking back to the ratios within the reaction itself above. If 0.101 mol of Fe completely reacts then 0.101 mol of FeO3 is formed because they are both made in equal ratio. The Fe is assumed to have completely reacted in this calculation.
Basically with these sorts of questions what should be done is to write down the fully BALANCED reaction equation and then work out however many moles of the species they have given. Then it is simply comparing the coefficients.
