Alright my laptop has a vga, s video and audio connector. What is the better quality and performance for my laptop to connect to hdtv?? because i already try the vga but i haven't try the s video.
And do you think that i just need to buy a like audio component to get a surround sound on my hdtv??
i got 32 inches hdtv
optional question
how do you resize the desktop to look smaller to my hdtv? (my hdtv has no vertical resize) because i tried to change the resolution in my laptop and my laptop desktop got smaller but my hdtv doesn't.

s-video is the lowest quality,
VGA is next
HDMI is best...
VGA will be as good as HDMI at HDTV settings, but you will notice a significant drop off in quality with S-video.
and yes you'll need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm adapter (headphone to headphone) and you should be able to connect this to the tv, if there's no port, it's just a 3.5mm headphone to red and white RCA,
both cheap cables to pick up.
and as for the optional question, use a program such as Ultramon to allow you to rescale.
VGA to HDMI cable basically works for truly professional desktops that helps it. maximum of them do no longer. VGA to HDMI converter field exists yet they fee between $50-$two hundred. The evaluation for them isn't very good nevertheless. final analysis is get a clean television that has vga port or get new computing device that has HDMI output.
VGA would be the best connection for you on your laptop and you don't need to buy a audio component unless your laptop is equipped with surround sound technology. What you can do is to get a surround sound card eg.- http://cgi.ebay.com/Creative-Sound-Blaster-Laptop-...
Standard stereo sound will do just fine in my opinion unless i'm watching a movie then i'll just put on the surround sound.
