My boyfriend and I will have about 3 days to spare before we do a Switzerland/France trip, and we were wondering if we should start in Vienna (Austria) or Venice (Italy). We want to pick the city that's the most festive (markets and whatnot, or day trips nearby), culturally interesting, and entertaining city for a few days. Also not too expensive.
Thanks!

Vienna is just another big capital city with a past but Venice is ... beyond description. It's a once in a lifetime experience even for one day. If you want to save money, you have to avoid Switzerland.
