It started about 2 days ago, didn’t think much of it first, barely noticed. It’s like a nauseating dull ache that comes off and on in waves, and when I breath in deep I feel a light stabbing pain in my shoulder blade and back and chest above my nipple. I’m a little concerned. What could this be?

Your gallbladder is located directly under your right rib. The gallbladder secretes bile to help you digest greasy, fatty foods. If your gallbladder isn't functioning properly, it will hurt whenever you eat greasy food. The pain is most noticeable under the ribs but can radiate into the right side of the chest or even in the back up to shoulder blade. The most common gallbladder problems gall stones and "biliary diskenesia" which simply means that your gallbladder isn't squeezing out bile the way it should, causing pain. Gall bladder pain can be chronic and uncomfortable but a full blown gallbladder attack is intensely painful. As well as intense pain it can cause vomiting and profuse sweating. People sometimes think that they're having a heart attack. The only option at that point is to remove the gallbladder. Try to determine whether or not it seems to be aggravated by greasy, fried foods and If it is, try to cut back to see If it helps. Either way, you should see a doctor .
