What is your favorite discipline, and why?
My answer-
My favorite discipline is dressage, because-
1) My body is better built for dressage than jumping (there is such thing as rider conformation too, you know).
2) I am a perfectionist, which goes along nicely with dressage.
3) It is SUPA fun!

Cutting for sure. Most of you probably won't know what this is because you seem more like English kind of girls but I encourage you to visit NCHA website.
1) It is fast paced and thrilling
2)Realy connection with the horse
3) Make your horse look like it is doing it on its own/no cuing (super challenging)
4) Not trying to sound conceited, but I'm a natural. I've never been a fabulous rider, but I picked it up right away.
My own body is not good for dressage, though I do enjoy it.
I guess my favourite discipline would be the cross-country phase of a one day event. Time to go with your horse, ask him questions and think quickly in the saddle. You get the feel of how your horse is going and can think where you can ease up and when the horse is going well enough to ask for a bit more. Style does not matter so much as long as you stay on and can ease the passage for the horse! A good honest horse who enjoys it as much as I did was a bonus! I had great times with my last horse!
My first taste was at a very well run event when everyone went off at 3 minute intervals. I was number 35. After about 6 fences I heard the tannoy saying that I had overtaken number 34 and I never saw him! We carried on, tackling fences that my horse nor I had ever seen before. We came to the last but one fence, a hedge leading to a V fence and number 34 was right behind me. We jumped the fence and I had to swing round because the stupid lad was trying to race me. We ended up jumping the same fence at the same time with only inches apart from different sides. He was eliminated. My grandmother had come to watch and not understanding the rules of cross country was heard to shout in a most undignified manner "Tell her to slow down!" I came 4th out of 132 competitors - beating my instructor! After that I was hooked. And so was my horse!
Then there would be show jumping but not so much!
My favourite is dressage - even though it is the most frustrating thing in the world when it goes wrong, when it goes right it goes SO right.
I've never had as much of a buzz from a good jump as I have from a good flatwork session.
I like dressage too! Even though I'm not great, I like to try, plus I think it teaches discipline to both horse and rider and helps tone flabby parts! LOL
My fav. discipline is hunters because you get to show off the perfection and beauty of your horse. It truly sets apart the mediocre horses from the fantastic ones. Hunters encourage beauty and I love the way a perfect hunter tucks his perfectly square knees. It's truly a beautiful discipline. Unlike a lot of hunter's however I do appreciate that it's not better than any one discipline, it's simply my favorite!
its a tie between saddle seat, dressage and pony cart driving
saddle seat because i love the flashy horses and i ride it.
dressage because my horse is trained up to 2nd level.
and pony cart driving because i used to do it and i loved it. it was alot of fun and i loved the pony that i was working with. hope this helps ♥
Jumping and dressage, because jumping its like your flying. dressage just for fun and it looks good lol.
I enjoy jumping but mostly like pleasure riding
horse racing
1) i worked so hard to be a jockey and it's all worth it.
2) you ride 100's of horses.
3) you are riding like all the time! :)
4) i love racing :)
