You realize that Venus is the third brightest object in the sky, right? And that it was probably "discovered" by the first human to look up at the night sky. Sorry, but since this was before recorded history, his identity is unknown. Where did you ever come up with the silly idea that Copernicus (or anyone else) discovered Venus?
I would guess he discovered Venus when his father pointed it out to him, when Mikolaj (Nikolaus or Nicolaus) was about 5 years old. Or maybe it was his uncle Varmia.
he didn't discover Venus. i think he used Venus's orbit and phase changes to prove that Earth is not the center of the universe. Venus is orbiting the sun not earth.
Probably the first time he looked up at the sky in the late evening or early morning and noticed that bright object there. He certainly wasn't the first.

Venus was a recognized planet long before Copernicus. (so were Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn).
