I got into a vo-tech school for welding and i was awarded a pell grant. but considering the cost of gas and supplies etc, where can i take out a student loan? they dont accept stratford..
If you school accepts Pell Grants then they also accept Stafford loans. They are both Title IV Federal Financial Aid. Either someone has lied to you or you misunderstood.
Talk to the FAO at your school. There are probably some lenders they work with - they should be able to give you a list of some kind. Stafford loans would be best, but if they are not an option at your school, the school would have several private lenders standing by, if your credit is good enough
You can seek "private loans" though banks, but those loans would require monthly payments and you'll be hard-pressed to find one when when they're not eligible for stafford loan funding. Sounds like you need to Get A Job!
