I've had both FL Studio and Cakewalk Sonar X2 for a couple of months but haven't worked on anything due to complications, but ive been wondering which program is better for recording either FL or Cakewalk. and then again which is better for making beats?
What is Avid Pro tools good for?

For music production, I strongly recommend FL Studio. Although FL Studio (Producer edition or higher) is fully capable of recording and editing vocals, it is not the best at it. For vocal recording and editing, I recommend Pro Tools. (I have no experience with Sonar so I don't know about that).
Good Luck
This is a difficult one to determine. While you say acoustic music what precisely do you imply? Acoustic guitar and vocals? Are living form track without a amps but in actual fact a full band? Or simply the vocal tracks layered over able made tune? Despite the fact that you provide us that a lot information then we might need to hear the style of song that you are enjoying and know how equipped you're with gear. I have tried a number of exclusive choices with my band but we ended up losing a huge amount of cash earlier than recording our first CD because of random recommendation. I would say ignore all comments on here and go to your regional music store and speak to them about gear. They are able to gage what you wish to have and provide you with professional recommendation and get your response straight up. You will most effective waste money if following recommendations from us and my studio would not fit your type of song with out extra money being invested. If you need a easy recording of a lowish fine then which you can purchase ordinarilly whatever on the market. If you need it to sound excellent then you both ought to build your studio to your variety or make investments on a whole authentic installed. In my view i'd go together with the previous as an alternative than the latter.
