Why did my whole garden start dying?

We had a nice long soaking rain yesterday after a couple weeks of nada, so I just went outside to see how my gorgeous, thriving garden was liking the rain. Know what I found?

My whole garden looks like it's been sprayed with herbicide and then sunburned. Everything is dying overnight, everything, just like that, even my six foot tall tomatoes and my sunflowers and my enormous three foot tall eggplant. I haven't even harvested anything yet except for two little zucchini. I have one tomato so far that is big enough to start to ripen. One. Both my plants are covered stem to stern in tiny baby tomatoes that will likely never see maturity.

I had lost two cukes to wilt a few weeks ago, but since I pulled and removed them I'd had no further issues. This doesn't look like wilt at all, and I tested the stems of a couple plants just to be sure... not wilt as far as I can tell. What is it?

Update:

Well my husband went out and looked at it with me, and even the grass around my garden beds is dying-- but not the rest of the lawn. Diagnosis: somebody took weed spray out of his truck and sprayed it on my garden.

It wasn't a lack of water. I said it didn't rain for two weeks, I didn't say I had not watered for two weeks.
