Ok, I have had this tv for about 3 years and the people before me for god knows long. T first it was fine, but a couple months in, it started flickering. It progressively got worse probably because i hit it a lot until the screen went black and wouldn't come back. I thought it was busted so I brought it to the basement. A year and a half later, I decide to try it again for the hell of it expecting the worst, but weirdly, it worked. I mainly play video games on it, so I just adjust the yellow videoplug or wait it out. I know it can be fixed since a dead tv doesn't come back to life. I gotta ask, why?
Update:Btdubs, telling me to throw it away doesn't answer my question. I want a real answer please and thanks.

your tv seems to be a very old one (CRT Tv with the huge back). chances are, dust has accumulated somehow in your tv and will affect performance in your tv. get a service check up on it. DO NOT ATTEMPT to open up the tv and clean it out yourself, my cousin received a shock that sent him 4 metres away from the tv and had to be sent to hospital.
Throw it away.
