I have installed Windows Vista home basic. After installing the windows is showing as 30 days to activate in the system properties screen. Once I tried to click the activate windows, it goes online and checked the windows genuine advantage check. Once it is completed, I got a message in the windows validation page stating that "Thanks for using genuine windows and you can use all the windows produts and features". Even after completing the windows genuine validation, the system proprties windows still showing my windows as 30 days to activate.

Can anyone please help on this issue.

Is there any other way to disable the windows activation notification or I need to activate my windows. As of now, I having the following options in the activate screen.

1. Activate online

2. Try a different product key

3. Contact Lenovo support for solutions

I tried activating using the first option Activate windows online where the page forwarded to the windows validation page and gives the message as Windows is genuine.

Hope you can understand the issue I am facing.

Hi S@gi, The laptop was purchased along with the windows installed. They gave a recovery CD along with my laptop. Can you please let me know where the CD key will be available in the backup / recovery CD. Wheni purchase it shows the windows is activated and recently I switch over to windows 7 and I faced some activation issues in windows 7. so, finally came back to my vista. Now my vista is not activating. I would be pleased if you provide the details of where the cd key can be found in the backup / recovery CD which was provided by Lenovo.
