A friend of mine called me earlier and told me he was playing his xbox but turned it off to go eat something. He came back to play more, but when he turned it on the screen was blank, but he could still hear the sounds from the menu. He tried restarting the consol, but still nothing. I suggested replugging the cables, but that didn't work. Then I told him to try plugging in a different system to see if the same thing happened. When he plugged in his Wii and PS2, they were fine. He tried the 360 again. Same problem. I told him to take a rest and check it in the morning, cause it might be that it was just overheating. So I thought while he went to bed, I'd ask you guys what you thought. What kind of solutions could you give us for this problem? The same thing actually happened to me a few years ago with my PS2, but when I got new cords, it worked fine. I also told him to try that. But if all this fails, then what? Can you guys help out?

the solanoid between the the video interface and mother board is broken( here is hoping it is only that) but only if the sound is perfect( i mean perfect as in like it would normally sound if you were playing it, if thats a case you can take it to any computer repair shop and have it fixed (it will take no more than an hour labour)if its not under warranty. if the sound is dim/quieter than it would nomally be than you have cracked the motherboard and that cant or isnt worth fixing. new cords wont fix the problem but first plug the cables into the console an give them a bit of a wiggle, if there is a bit of movement bingo there is your problem, sometimes givin it a wiggle into certain positions will bring the picture back but dont expect it to be a long term solution
