I'm flying from latin america and want to bring ONE bottle of wine, I'm 19 and I know that you're not legally allowed to drink in the United States under 21.
However, if I check my baggage and carry just ONE bottle of wine would this be a problem being under 21?
Update:Please don't try to persuade me not to drink... I've been allowed to drink in my house since I was 15....

This is one of those questions where you're gonna get a lot of BS answers and people reminding you about the drinking age (TexHabs).
Here's the answer you're looking for: obviously, as you know, you are not legally allowed to bring it. If customs finds it, they will take it away. That's it. This will only happen if customs randomly searches your bag, which is very, very unlikely. I've flown internationally countless times and so far I have NEVER had my bag checked when returning to the U.S.
Alcohol, like most other things, is supposed to be declared if you are bringing it back in your luggage. There are regulations, such as the 1 bottle tax-free limit and you have to pay taxes on any additional bottles, etc. Because you are underage, you can't declare it because like I said, they will take it if you do.
So, if you wanna risk it, you put it in your suitcase, you go through customs and you don't declare it. Like I said, one of two things will happen. 99% chance they don't open your suitcase and you're fine. About 1% chance you get unlucky, they open your suitcase and they take it away. Best option would obviously be to have someone who is 21 take it in their luggage and declare it, but if that's not on the table then go ahead try bringing it through.
I'm over 21, but I never declare alcohol like I'm supposed to when I bring it back from abroad because I think it's complete crap that US Customs thinks they have the right to stick their hands in my pockets and tax me on things I bought in other countries. I have brought back many, many bottles of alcohol from foreign countries in my life and I've never declared a single one at customs.
So.....I'm traveling back to the states and I'm 20. I've been on a study abroad trip. I purchased a couple bottles of wine for my parents as gifts. (The program directors didn't mention that this might not be legal) I'm just wondering did it work for you? Did you go through and not get in trouble?
you're superb, your bag tag would not have your age on it, I even have had bottles in my checked bags earlier and no-one ever says a ingredient approximately it, my purely real suggestion is to wrap the bottles up in somewhat some clothing and to no longer cover it, to guard it
maybe not if the bottle were purchase tthe duty free shop as a gift
but contact the airline to make sure
