All Samoyed are Siberian, they are literally from Siberia. Look it up guys! The name Samoyed comes from the Samoyedic peoples of Russia! So no, not a mixed breed, just the full name she was calling it.
And FYI, I am very against "designer" dog breeds, so I would let you know if that's what I thought this was!
Loki, I think I read the question that the original poster was referring to and that the girl who was getting the puppy was calling her Samoyed a "Siberian Samoyed", I don't think in this case it was a mixed breed dog, just someone who didn't know what they were talking about. I hope I'm right and it wasn't just another unfortunate cross that someone bought thinking it was a real breed...sigh...
I'm guessing this is an interesting case. I'm guessing there two versions. A purebred version and a mutt version
Remember the Samoyed was also bred in Sibera in Russia
I going to presume Russian People call the dog we know as Samoyed. Siberian Samoyed. and probably in Russia it would be refered to this name. I typed in it and simple only came up with Samoyed
However again there be irresponsble breeder who would mix a Siberian Husky with Samoyed and call it a Siberian Samoyed and this would probably be the most likely case in Australia, USA, Candada, United Kindom etc
The Samoyed is another dog which is Siberian in origin, named after the tribe that developed it. Calling the breed a "Siberian Samoyed" is redundant (like calling a Rottweiler a "German Rottweiler")...the breed is known simply as "Samoyed".
"Samoyed" is its full name - not "Siberian Samoyed", or "Russian Samoyed", or "Kamchatka Samoyed".
Just Samoyed.
When I hear "Siberian Samoyed", I assume someone has crossbred a Siberian Husky and a Samoyed, and is trying to give them a cutesy "designer" name. In that case, yes. It is a mixed breed dog.
Nooo! These dogs shed tons and tons! They have thick coats that are used to cold climates. The dander in the fur is what triggers allergies. If you want a dog good for people with allergies I recommend looking up Hypoallergenic dogs. These dogs do not shed, example: Havanese and Poodles. Hope this helped :)
siberian husky is what pulls sleds in dog sled races, they can look wolf like.
samoyed is a northern dog in the U.S. not kept for racing. in there native land they are used for sled dogs. this breed is white with longer coat, the siberian can be any color

I am not the best on breeds but I have yet to hear of a Siberian Samoyed. I do believe they are two completely seperate breeds.
There's no such thing as a "Siberian Samoyed".. this would have to be a mix.
Many people are in denial that their "designer" dogs are not real breeds.
Yes they are a mix, there is no such breed as a siberian samoyed
