It does sound like an attachment disorder.
My dad had some serious attachment issues when he was a child because he was in 14 different foster homes before he was adopted at age 2 or 3 years old. He still has attachment issues, but I don't know if it can still be called attachment disorder when it's in an adult. He definitely has trust issues as well though.
This does seem like an attachment disorder. Consult your doctor. Spend as much time touching and cuddling your son as possible. If he doesn't attach, he is likely to become a sociopath. This does not mean that he is going to be a serial killer, but it does mean he will have a very difficult psychological disorder.
If I were you, I would do everything that you possibly can: spend tons of time with your son, touching him as much as possible, consult a doctor, consult a child psychiatrist, do research, find and consult a psychiatrist who specializes in attachment disorder/sociopaths.
I do not want to seem overdramatic, but this is obviously a very important issue.
You might want to read the book High Risk: Children Without a Conscience. It is very informative.
