Does the mother look like a Border Collie? Because the pups do not.
Few responsible breeders can afford to purchase an adult stud that is the best match for their b*tch. People who buy juvenile dogs with the intent of breeding them when they grow up are not interested in producing quality animals; they just want to make a buck selling purebred dogs, and any will do.
They look mixed, they may have a bit of border collie in them but I don't think they are pure. If you look at the fur itself it is really short and it isn't fluffily like it should be! I don't think you should go for it! There are so many more professional places you can be looking at if you just look up Red Border Collie Breeders and your city name a bunch of places should pop up. I don't know if this is stalkerish I hope not but I saw that you were looking at San Antonio Craigslist so I took the liberty of trying to find you nice puppies and found this question with a bunch of kennels that have BC puppies: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080... and I found another website expecting a litter on September 13th http://www.pba-bordercollie.com/abca-registered-pu...

Hope I helped!
there DO exist purebred smooth border pups and red pure borders but neither are common....
sans papers and it becomes problematic for that purety.
PS father not on premisis is not a dealbreaker
NO papers, not purebred. And don't look purebred either. Unless they are $50 with shots walk away.
Any puppies on Craigs list are suspicious. I would walk away from this and find a BC puppy elsewhere. They sure don't look purebred to me.
