I reset my linksys and i'm connected to the internet now, but i want to set up a password for it, i think WPA2 im supposed to do. the cisco box model no is a WRT160N V3.
i tried doing the start>run type in cmd then put the gateway password into the address bar, and it tells me to put in a password and i put in admin then default and it'll log me on but when i click the Security tab it tells me to enter username and password again so i reenter admin - default and it no longer works.
help please, thank you.

In your browser (firefox/IE/Safari/Chrome) put 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
In all cases the username is admin.
The default password is either password or admin (I forget).
At this point you can't click through the various tabs to change the configuration?
Some early Linksys also used:
user:admin
pass: blank (as in type NOTHING)
user:admin
pass:admin
user: blank
pass: admin
If it's a rogers or other cable modem unit then:
user: cusadmin
password: blank
