Please answer all that you can for me here please because I am disabled US Army Veteran deciding whether to live in Mexico with my wife. If I cannot get the medications that I take here I think I would be better off bringing her here.
I have an opportunity of bringing her son to Ohio to get a Medical Degree and as a dependent he can receive all the benefits as if he were my own.
How can you compare Medical school in Mexico to the training and education given in the United States
I am wondering what kind of medical education they receive in the Universities there'
I was told it was up to date and modern medicine. But, I see that it's less than even managed care.
I know someone who can attend a medical school here in Ohio USA but refuses buy saying they can get the best in the world there. How is it possible when they don''t even know the diagnostic equipment and procedures that can be used to better treat a patient
I cannot believe it when you can't even get a prescription there for many medicines to use at home and effective ones are not permitted in Mexico.
How can you rate the medical treatment used in Mexico. I would say it's more like Obama care where all you receive is a new appointment and not care. I think someone said to me that is from Mexico many effective antibiotics and medicines are not permitted for use even if the patient was terminal and dying
Paracetamol is all they give patients there for all illnesses i have seen it for myself.
Ear drops for an infection rather than antibiotics is unbelievable for a trained physician.
Birth control drugs I was told are not prescribed there as well but many say they receive them. On the list of medications used in Mexico it says they are not allowed to give them to women there. Maybe it was an old book I read but it did say birth control medications are not given to women in Mexico and are illegal there.
Surgical procedures seem to be better suited for animals also from my studies and many deaths occur due to the training and of the surgeons there am I correct ?
I talked with one who never even heard of an MRI being used there and CT Scans as well.

I have never been to Mexico, so take my answer for what it's worth to you.
First, Birth Control might not be allowed there because many Mexicans are Catholic, where birth control is not allowed. There might be other religious reasons concerning medicines.
Second, while I wouldn't doubt that the universities are up to date, there is the question of reputation. I'm not saying that the medical schools there aren't any good, but say a hospital is interviewing doctors here in the US. I'm sure there will be a negative stigma associated with schools in Mexico.
It might be wrong, but it's something to consider. Going to school in the US will give him better job prospects.
