if you are happy with the work, then you didnt get snookered.if your only complaint is the price, find a cheaper mechanic.
i charged a man 500$ to split a tractor, remove the engine, rebuild after the machinist was done, and then fix several other problems with it.he acted unhappy over the price, but he and i both know that he couldnt have had a complete rebuild anywhere near that cost.the bad part is it sat in my shop almost a yr waiting for parts.way to cheap.last i checked,it still sounds just like a sewing machine.(1 month ago)i expect the motor to outlast the man sad to say.the motor will have atleast bare min 20 yrs use.
Depends on the vehicle but just the rack & pinion replacement can run $500-$1,200. Replacing one axle assembly can run $300-$500. The toe adjustment on the alignment after replacing the rack and pinion assembly is included in the labor to replace the rack and pinion, not separate labor.
Seems kind of high but if you go to place that are brand name repair shops it's going to cost you an arm and leg for repiar, no matter what. But someone who fixes cars on the side for people is going to charge you a whole lot less, luckily we know a few people that do and we go to him and pay half the cost, sometimes more than half.
It depends, did you take it to a dealer or to a service garage? You don't say how extensive the work was that you had done. My guess is you weren't overcharged and probably got a deal if the work was extensive. Parts and labor can add up very quickly.
$800 would have been better! Hard to tell from here, but that price seems mighty high to me!!! also did they use NEW, REBUILT or USED parts to do the job??? MOSt racks are about $150 rebuilt, and bushiungs about $30 each. CANNOT TELL ya'.

Hard to say without an invoice. If it includes parts and labor it seems reasonable for the amount of work you describe.
Hard to say without a few more specifics, but it doesn't sound toooooo bad. Nothing to lose sleep over anyway.
