It's nearly time to vote for the next President... and as an exercise lets run a little test real fast. Which of these men would you vote for.
Candidate A.
Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologist He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.
Candidate B.
He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart ofwhiskey every evening.
Candidate C
He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.
So, do you think you are above spin and propaganda? I would have thought I was until I voted for candidate C. Did anyone else choose the same as I did? If so, you just voted for Adolf Hitler. Candidate A was Franklin D. Roosevelt and B is Winston Churchill. Maybe this election.. we should listen less to the media and do more of our own research on the candidates.. what do you say?
Update:How many times lately have you heard that someone won't vote for Hillary because she didn't divorce Bill.. or that Giuliani has had too many wives...
Personal issues are what many people vote on. I'm just saying those that do should dig a little deeper.

I took this question in College with one of my favorite teachers for modern ECO! its funny the first one I chose was B because he seemed most like an America politician that was in office since the late 60's.
I say enough Politicians have cheated on us too much. The "Middle class" can hardly live. The "Poor Class" continue to suffer, while the "Rich" are facing two things, becoming middle class or broke with the constant collapse of their empires and companies to the same foreign office's they sent AMERICAN jobs too.
I feel more enlightened about propaganda at this time in my life. Back when I was in college a movie like F9/11 could spin me, but now I can usually tell which way a movie/show is leaning after the first 30 mins. Of course, like the good saying goes, "Actions speak louder than words." So I will vote for a candidate who has proven themselves to be trustworthy, not because of some platform they are running to get special intrest/single issue voters.
The more spin and propaganda I hear about a candidate, the more I question the motives and ethics of those who are spreading the (mis)information. If, for example, Hillary says Obama would have flunked out of school if his father had not given a small fortune to the school, she has just secured another vote for Obama! (That example is pure fiction for those who might try to use it ) I would never vote for a candidate who uses pure venom in their campaign.
I say all we can do is be as informed as we can be. Don't believe everything the government tells us, do our own research regarding issues we feel strongly about and when we see an injustice, speak out against it.
Propaganda is a tool that is and has been used in this country since it's origin. It's up to us as citizens, to decipher what is really going on.
Candidate C is too perfect for a politician. Candidates A y B look like politicians.
Hey Pip, your examples only present the candidate's lifestyles. We are mostly bombarded with propaganda about the candidate's positions, beliefs and ideology. Ultimately, that is what they are elected upon. Such as Hitler: it was the ideology he published in Mein Kampf that led to him coming into power.
A modern day example of propaganda: Hillary Clinton campaigns on the notion of "a change of course." However, she has voted to authorize a war and has continually funded it. Now that's propaganda.

I don't know who they are. I don't believe any of that crap, unless someone can bring proof to the table. And then, it would depend on when all of this stuff occurred. Was it when they were 17 or what?
I don't believe that his personal life should be our business. If he can prove that he can do the job and has respect for the position of President of the United States, that's what matters to me.
Ive seen this before. Yes it is propaganda. We as voters have to see the bigger picture. Had we known the positions of the candidates in your example and their country of origin and the time and place they are in then this propaganda and spin are useless.
The problem today is not propaganda or spin it is our willingness to buy in to these lies.
And the lies are on both sides!
I would say A, because several martinis should keep him relaxed enough to keep from jumping to irrational decisions.
Turning to an astrologist shows he isn't an extreme right-winger, and a couple mistresses shows he isn't gay.
And as far as being a chain smoker, its his health not mine, and it kind of limits his own terms, even if we didn't have term limit laws.

That doesnt show that propaganda is a problem, it shows that personal life has no business in politics.
Hitler didnt get support because of that stuff, he got support because he was undeinably amazing as a public speaker. Watch his speaches-they dont even have to be in English for you to understand.
