What message is the person trying to get across with that message.
Glorifying drug peraphinalia on a public school campus is just stupid. Taking it down is not a violation of free speech, it is enforcement of a school policy.
Inorrect. He wasn't even on school property, and he was only trying to get on TV. The banner wasn't even gramatically correct, it's not an endorsement of anything. On the other hand, there's been 5 years of battling for only 10 days suspension. The student is clearly a little bit attention-seeking.
When you have this bunch in the white house and their lemming-like ilk saying that if you question this or any administration or want this stupid trumped up war to cease that you then ar unpatriotic and unamerican. They thought calling people unpatriotic would get them to stop asking the tough questions, but it didn't work...and the sheep's clothing is being stripped away from the wolf. Long live America. Long live the United States Constitution and an extra cheer for the freedom of speech!
OK....the page says this guy is teaching and studing in China....you have to be pretty smart to get on one of those study abroad things.....so I am more partial to believe he was just makeing a statement. I garantee that those kids who say the sign didn't go out and start smoking pot because of it.....
on the other hand...if this is allowed then will we have to allow the local dealer to stand there with a sign(some might be that stupid).....
So I have to say that just because this kid was trying to make a statement....and beings that it went to the supreme court he did....he should have got what he did....

Jesus would approve of bong hits, though.

I think that the principal was way out of line.
But what I find most interesting is that the guy is being defended by the ACLU AND Conservative Christians.
I think the principal was incorrect. As offensive as the banner was, it wasn't even on school property.
ALL SPEECH IS NOT FREE SPEECH...
You can't yell "FIRE!!!" in a crowded theater. If you're some dopey high school kid, neither is advocating doing illegal drugs in the name of God.
Clearly the principal was correct. End of story.
Sounds like a false advertising case to me.
It depends on who is listening...............Religion is definitely one of the subjects that should not be viewed as free speech
IT'S IN POOR TASTE BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY WHAT THEY WANT.
